Monica McWilliams
Monica McWilliams represented the Northern Ireland Women’s Coalition at the Multi-Party Peace Negotiations and is a signatory to the Good Friday Peace Agreement.
She was elected to the Northern Ireland Legislative Assembly and subsequently appointed as Chief Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission where she drafted the advice on a Bill of Rights.
Monica is currently a member of the Independent Reporting Commission for the disbandment of paramilitary organizations and is Chairperson of Interpeace, an international NGO.
She is a recipient of the J F Kennedy’s Profile in Courage Award and has recently published her memoirs.
